Brandt Cormorants are incredible seabirds. They nest in cliffs along the ocean and these were in California. The nests are on the very edges of the cliffs and seemingly vulnerable to wind and losing their young to falls. It was amazing to observe their behavior. The males start the nest and do the best job they can in order to attract a female. Once the female takes over the male is sent off to sea where it dives to incredible depths to bring back the grasses seen in this photo. He continues this process until the female is satisfied the nest is complete. They then mate and the female stays with the nest. The male takes turn at the nest once the eggs are laid to give the female a chance to move around and eat.

Only 195 pieces are created for each of these photos, whether as a print, on canvas or as metal wall art. Each print is numbered, signed, and includes a Certificate of Authenticity. Once the numbered editions have sold, that limited edition will no longer be available for purchase.
